Hero: Reverend William Norwich
Heroine: Lady Corinne Justine Rosemont
This is the first Cathy Maxwell book I've read, and I enjoyed it. The heroine's name (Corinne Justine) had lovely lyrical appeal. Since she was a lady, there were also lots of "my lady" appellations, which I enjoy. The heroine had spunk, moxie, and smarts. She was my favorite character in the book.
The hero was the Thorn; a Robin Hood who stole from the rich to give to the poor. I didn't love him as much as the heroine, but he was a good guy. He met the heroine years before and fell in love with her then, but he didn't want to give into his feelings out of a sense of honor.
I was going to give this book a rating of great, but the more I think about it, the less I think the story itself deserves a great rating. The heroine was great. The story was good. I liked it and would recommend it. I enjoyed it very much.
On a different note, the female cover model kept reminding me of some actress. I couldn't remember when or where I had seen her. Finally, it dawned on me. It was the girl in the Jane Doe movies: Jessy Schram. I don't know if she was the actual model, but she looks like her.
I don't like rating books by a star or number system, so here's my rating system:
Bad=Quit reading the book
Fair=It was okay; I finished it
Good=I liked it
Great=I loved it; definitely would enjoy re-reading it someday
Rating for The Seduction of Scandal: Good
