Hero: Lord Derek Creswell
Heroine: Miss Elizabeth Smith
This is a novella in the Elusive Lords series. It follows Sinful Surrender and A Taste of Desire. I haven't read either one, and I didn't feel like I was missing out.
Things I didn't like:
• There are a handful of typos.
• Initially, I was distracted by an overuse of adjectives. It drew me out of the story. It wasn't a problem after awhile.
• The references to Charlotte and Alex in the beginning pulled my attention away from Derek and Elizabeth. Considering their minor roles in this story, I would have preferred less about them and more about the main lovebirds.
Things I liked:
• I was worried that Miss Kendall was going to lose me somewhere near chapters seven and eight. As the scene progressed, I kept saying 'no, that's not the way to go' but the tension continued to mount, and just when I thought the scene was going off the deep end, the heroine saved the day. Or rather, the author did. It looked like it was going one way, but it went a different way. A good way. I enjoyed the experience.
• Derek took fate in his own hands.
• Elizabeth had a good heart.
• I enjoyed the sweet way they fell in love a little at a time.
I don't like rating books by a star or number system, so here's my rating system:
Bad=Quit reading the book
Fair=It was okay; I finished it
Good=I liked it
Great=I loved it; definitely would enjoy re-reading it someday
Rating for All's Fair in Love and Seduction: Good
